Old and Unique to Bow-Ties

Polaroid cameras...just about the coolest camera's in the world. This is a Land Camera. the first one of its kind was invented around 1923! land cameras were used for creating films. It is still the only instant film camera! I really want one of these. Or even just a regular instant camera (not a land camera).

This is a vintage clothing shop in Oregon. I saw this picture on tumblr months ago, and recently found out what this is. It is a trailer shop but they also have an actual store. Here is their website: http://www.shopwanderlustvintage.com/p/wanderlust-couture.html Check it out, its actually quite unique.

Hand written letters. I find it so sad that no one really writes letters anymore. I know for sure, when my friends and I spilt up to go to college, I will be hand-writing letters to them to keep in touch. Its the neatest old fashion way.
This is a phonograph cylinder. We actually have one of these in my house. It plays cylinder shaped records. Of course, It sounds scratchy and somewhat creepy...but its very unique. They were the earliest commercial medium for recording and reproducing sound. They were invented around 1888.

This is what the cylinder records look like that play in the phonograph cylinder. I think we have around 30 of them.

Now...this is a true true true statement. Bow-ties...are cool. Don't believe me? I will prove it.

They can be funny.

They can look nice and professional.

They can be cute.

AND they can even be food!!

See you guys next week. where I will be posting A LOT from my trip to Nashville, Tennessee from
 July 5th-11th.

Stay lovely.

Warm Lake, Idaho

At the end of this blog I will explain how my blog is going to go from now on(: Make sure you read the last part about it!

For the past 3 days I went up to Warm Lake for our annual family reunion camp-out! It rained most of the time and was freezing but that definitely didn't ruin our time up there. From killer volleyball, fishing, a trip to landmark, intense card and marble games, to campfires, stories/riddles by the fire, and late night hiking trips all made this camp-out one big success!
Here are some pictures and stories from my memorable annual family camp-out!!

Ladies and Gentlemen...this is the wonderful Warm Lake!! Don't let the blue sky fool you...this was the most blue we ever saw the whole camp-out. Also, the lake isn't actually warm...its cold because of snow runoff and such. across the lake it look bare. the reason for this is that a few years ago there was a HUGE, and I mean HUGE fire. It was amazing that it just barley missed warm lake..and landmark! But really...just look at that view..

Here is a photo of the some of the dead trees from that HUGE fire. The forest was so green and dense before the fire. Its so very sad that so much of the beautiful forest had to suffer.
As I mentioned, Landmark Idaho was also saved from the fire. Its just down the road that the fire was at...
Landmark is a place where my mom and her family grew up. Its SO perfect there. all of the pure log cabins, fields,   the creek, and the uniqueness. I took the bottom right photo in a log cabin's attic. there were all sorts of old antique vintage stuff up there. I really wish I could have that phone radio!
On the way back from Landmark we stopped by Mud Lake just past Landmark International airport. The airport is just a field. the top picture is my lovely dog Sophie who is such a great camping dog!

Found some super neat trees while hiking around the lake! The branches were going crazy.
Some more pictures from around the lake. the picture on the right is one of those things that float out in the lakes! the picture on the left....scared me...I was trying to take a cool picture of the tree above. When I got home and was looking through my pictures I noticed the bugs...didn't see them when I took the picture...crEEpy!

While hiking about I found some awesome sitting places.

Just a couple photos of the view from our camper! so perfect. I already miss the mountains, and the fresh air. Every time I go up to Cascade, Idaho or anywhere up there, I feel like I am going home.
Knowing my family, we are all competitive gamers (not video games though..).
There was a volleyball net in the group site. The first night up there we split into teams. the Cobras and the Grizzlies. I was a grizzly. We played for 4 hours strait! no breaks! also, most of the people playing were around 45-70 years old. haha. Pretty much everyone playing got bruises on there wrists...including me.
My cousins and I have a tradition of playing Egyptian rat screw! One of my cousins always win...my other cousin and I did whatever we could..and lost 9 times. did we win any? nope.
One of my favorite things to do while camping...go fishing! I kept 5 fish and let 2 go. its insane how fast we were catching fish. I would throw the line out and literally about 15 seconds later I was reeling in a fish. They were all rainbow trout! having trout for dinner tonight!! yummm(:

Outside of warm lake and all throughout Idaho, the beauty never fails to catch my attention. If you don't live in Idaho...I feel bad for you...you are missing all of the nature and peacefulness. If you have never gone camping...you HAVE to go sometime! really...lets become best friends and ill take you with me sometime(:

More beauty of Idaho.
The top photo is of the super moon in Cascade, Idaho.
The bottom photo is the sunset out in the wilderness! <3

Alright everyone...there is my trip to Warm Lake in Idaho!

Here is how I am going to run my blog from now on:

1. Every other week I WILL go somewhere I have NEVER been before. I definitely have Wanderlust. I want to travel..what better way to do it then starting small? I will post pictures and experiences from where I go. Even if its just a new park I have never been to.
2. I will also be posting a bunch of stuff thats vintage. I adore everything vintage. I may talk about how to make something look or be vinatage, or have pictrues of the 1900's.
3. If you have ANY suggestions of places to visit or things to post I would highly appreciate it!

Ps: I live in Boise, Idaho so it can't be across the united states(:

Thanks Y'all!!

The Happiest Place On Earth

Traveling. My #1 on my Bucket list. Traveling is everything to me. I absolutely love to go places I have never been. To experience culture, language, the people, and the architecture. Sadly...I have not had the chance to go out of the country. But, I am very lucky to be apart of a group called FCCLA which is allowing me to travel the country. It may not be the world but hey, its traveling and I love every minute of it! So far I have visited California, Oregon, Nevada, Florida, and in July I will be traveling to Utah, and Tennessee! Here are some of my memories of Orlando Florida from last July for an FCCLA National Conference.

Okay here we go...

This is Sadera and I on the way home for Orlando. We are just so sexy...

The View from out hotel room was beautiful!

The best part about our view, was every single night around 10pm we could watch the fireworks from other amusement parks! and let me tell you, fireworks, and Orlando lit up at night is gorgeous!

I love palm trees. its as simple as that. They are so beautiful and I wish we had them here in Idaho...
Anyways, this is our hotel!!

The City Beautiful.

Universal Studios Orlando!! one of my FAVORITE memories from the trip!

Just our luck. we had quite a big storm while we were at universal AND Disney world. but that definitely did not ruin our spirits!

Harry Potter World. By far my favorite ride and section of Universal. The 2 and half hour wait for the ride is worth it. If you go, I highly recommend the wait. Its incredible! especially when you walk through the castle! It truly is like Hogwarts!

3 of my best friends from the trip! we are just about to go on the dragon ride in Harry Potter World. We all look kinda crazy. Before this, we went on a lot of water rides like Jurassic park!
Me, Sadera, and Jessica.

'
ITS FUDGE TIME! While walking around Orlando we found this fudge shop. these 2 guys were singing and dancing and...well...making fudge.

Magic Kingdom!!!!!!!

Lisa, Sadera, and I. Lisa is my FCCLA Adviser. she is my inspiration, and practically my second mom. she is the reason I have accomplished so many things in my life. I don't know what I would do, or be without her in my life<3

Found this by the carousel at Disney. I don't know why but I love this picture so much<3

Winnie the Pooh. Probably my favorite ride at Disney World. It was so happy and exciting!! Space mountain and this were by top 2!

The famous Disney statue in front of the magical Castle...which truly was magical.

parade time. Okay...I don't know if its just me, but his face is HILARIOUS!

Disney World is just so pretty I wish I could live there.

Watching a show in front of the Disney castle! All of the famous characters were there! peter pan, Micky mouse, everyone!
The day comes to an end, The sky's get darker, and the castle lights up the night. This is a photo of me walking toward the castle. Disney at night was so perfect I can't even begin to explain the beauty of the lite up castle, the happy children, and...everything.

I remember how most of the people who worked in Orlando were from ALL over the world. There were also a lot of people from England, and people with southern accents. by the end of the trip, my Friend and I started to gain a small southern accent that eventually went away the moment we left. I will never forget my incredible trip to Orlando. I recommend it to EVERYONE. Hopefully I will get to visit that place again.

Sincerely,
Ashley.

Those Summer Bummer Moments

If your like me, you have those days where you really wanna go and hang out with some friends all day. But, sometimes, on those days, no one can do anything and your stuck at home with nothing to do but...well be bored. This actually happened to me yesterday. My painful boredom inspired me to compile a bunch of fun things to do by yourself during the summer!! Enjoy!

1. Make a bunch of Music CD's to play at home, or in the car OR you can put the music you downloaded on your I pod! (I use http://www.youtube-mp3.org/). you can even make your own CD cases!
2. Go tanning! Guys and Girls....its summer! Its tanning season. don't go and get a spray tan! you can just go outside and tan the old fashion way(:

3. Make a blog! Its a lot more fun then you think. pick a topic or just do random blogs and go crazy!

4. Watch movies or start a new season of a tv series! (like Doctor Who)

5.Take pictures and weird angles. You will be surprised how cool the strangest angles look! Or you can take  videos of random things. (Like I did with the squirrel in my last blog)
6. You could go walking around enjoying the time you have to yourself
7. Or you could simply just take a nap...I mean its summer who cares!

Comment below some things you like to do when your bored!

Sincerely,
  Ashley

My Story

Crazy, caring, and dedicated are just a few words people describe me as. I love life and I truly do accept all of my stress and difficulties as something to learn from. I am a people person. I love hanging out with friends and well...being social.

Although I enjoy being social, I also absolutely love being outdoors. You see, I live in Boise Idaho, a place where the outdoors is everywhere you look and you can be out in the wild 10 minutes outside of this busy, constantly growing city. Even now, as I am writing this, I am looking out at my back yard watching 3 squirrels run around jumping from tree to tree. The one thing I like about my backyard is how i can be surrounded by nature without leaving my home. My Yard includes: 2 big ponds surrounded by rocks, statues, small waterfalls, a mini pond, trees, fireplace, and a garden. When people come over they always say how lucky I am to have it. But, I have lived with it my whole life...I pretty much find it normal. Here are some pictures of my yard!

Oh, and I will post a mini video of a squirrel in our feeder once it leaves the feeder so i can have my camera back....it hasn't moved for 25 minutes...

Alright, Now you know some things about me...but what about the super dee duper basic stuff...?
Some of my Favorite Things:

1.Getting a suicide soda drink from the soda fountain
2.Roller Coaster Rides
3.My favorite Color is Purple (Very Dark Purple)
4.My dream is to become a professional Interior Designer
5.I am Idahos State Secretary for Idaho FCCLA
6.My ultimate dream is to travel the world! (especially France)
7.I am currently in French 2 and teaching myself Russian with a few friends over this summer
8.I am now officially a senior in high school (CRAZY)
9.My favorite number is 7
10.I absolutely positively love music(listening to it...I cant play or sing music)
Well...I believe that's it for now....If you have anything else you wanna know about me comment below! I always Reply(:
